When Things Don't Go as Planned

If there's one thing I’ve learned when it comes to growth and healing, it’s that whenever something doesn’t work out the way you planned, it’s usually because there’s something more out there for you that the Universe wants you to experience or learn.

So even though it can feel discouraging when something doesn't work out the way you imagined (and that feeling is totally valid!), I've learned to remind myself of this:

If it had worked out, then I wouldn't have experienced, learned, or received what I gained from going through that experience in the first place.

Have you ever had something not work out, and then a few days, weeks, months, or years later, you found something better, truer, and more aligned with you? Imagine if the first thing had worked out, how sad wouldn't that be!

So I know it’s a cliche, but the end of one thing is also the beginning of something new. And maybe that new thing is exactly what you needed to experience or learn in order to become the most authentic version of you.

So I'm not telling you not to feel discouraged or disappointed. I'm not telling you to fake happiness and gratitude. Please don't. The world deserves your true expression of yourself.

But I am telling you to also find peace. Find comfort. Find trust in that this is teaching or showing you something too.

Life isn't out to get you. It's not out to hurt you.

It's out to serve you. Guide you. Protect you. Show you what you haven't been able to see, but that's still very much present in your life.
